A Christmas Story…

A heart warming tale of friendship for the festive season...

I wasn’t sure what the message in this blog post was going to be as I began to write it but I just felt I wanted to share this story and the message would become clear as I got to the end, after all life must be lived forwards but can be only understood looking backwards…so let’s begin.

Meet Jonah and Crystal a solid Husband and Wife team with three beautiful little girls who provide me with constant heart warming inspiration, especially as a currently single guy who’s spent most of this year figuring out his life again.

I’ve known Jonah and Crystal for four years, and I would say Jonah is one of my best friends but we met for the first time in ‘real life’ in Windsor a week ago.

It was an amazing moment of true ‘bromance’, so cool to finally hang out with a brother I have a deep friendship with, to meet Crystal and their three girls and Grandma, it was a proper family meet up! lol

Although we’d never met in person, it was like hanging out with an old friend I hadn’t seen for a long time, and when we said good bye, it wasn’t hard because we know how far and wide our friendship has travelled this far.

Jonah and Crystal live in Georgia, USA and both started out as Online Personal Training clients of mine who wanted to get into good shape on a plant based diet back when that was my main focus.

We worked together for about a year Jonah got into great shape and Crystal got her body back having just given birth to their third daughter.

After our working relationship ended Jonah and I kept in contact. We speak at least once a month on the phone for 60-90 minutes, talking about life, the world and many many deep philosophical topics.

Jonah also helped me out massively last October when I was in Colombia, gifting me some money that allowed my trip to continue, a touch of generosity that blew me away and gave me an even deeper respect for him and why he’d shared it.

“It’s a gift but when you have the opportunity, pay it back to someone else.”

I look forward to the moment I am able to give back in a similar way.

So I guess the message in this email is two fold…

1. We are so blessed in this day and age with technology that can be used to create professional and personal opportunities, if it wasn’t for my Online Personal Training I would never have met one of my best friends, thank you to the gods of Zoom and Whatsapp. Make the most of these technologies if your loved ones aren’t around right now.

2. Tis the Season for giving so if you have an instinctive thought to give this Christmas season or next year, to a loved one or to a stranger, do it, don’t question it, if your sponsoring thought is of generosity then this is your truth.

So I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and in the words of Tiny Tim ‘Gawd Bless Us Everyone.’
